Aer Lingus customers are disgruntled because the airline might go on a one-day strike. This is news?? How about the french airlines, whose services are frequently interrupted by strikes that come with absolutely no warning or indication as to how long they last, and leave helpless backpackers stranded in tiny french towns like Beauvais.

Okay- the last post obviously didn't work- what I was TRYING to type was everyone go check out bored.com and out the link that says Name the TV sitcom character or dictator. You think of one of the above and by answering yes or no questions, the computer figures out your answer. You'd be surprised how many dictators (or sitcom characters) you can come up with!
Since I seem to be providing entertainment- everyone go check out

Also sorry to all the people I've pissed off by ignoring their calls and such- I haven't really been ignoring them, its just I really haven't spent any quantifyable time at home for the past couple days.
Ah, Saturdays. My day of work and more work. 8 hours at the marsh and then 8 at the art gallery leaves me very tired. Hopefully this will prepare me for many long nights interning at the hospital. (That is, if I ever hear from stupid U of M!) Today was a Mennonite wedding at the gallery, which means there were a lot of people at the gallery that I knew, which means it was wierd. I never like serving people I know- maybe my grandparents, but kids I know from church? Its making me start to think that perhaps I need to think about getting a real job one of these days.

I absolutely love B movies. Instead of so many crappy A list movies that are trying to be more deep and emotionally fulfilling than they really are (think any movie with Kevin Costner), B movies are content to wallow in their superficiality. I rented StarShip Troopers today, possibly the funniest movies ever. Its all about a futuristic world where millions of good looking kids enlist to save the earth from giant killer bugs. My favorite line is "Something sucked his brain out!" Also there are many topless women, and extensive fighting scenes. Its a classic!

I've really got to change the name of my blog- Life and Times Sucks a lot- but I couldn't be creative on the spot. Any suggestions?
I just got back from playing basketball, and I forgot how much fun it is! I was playing with Alana Janzen and some other people in a pick up game. Life at the marsh is good. And uneventful. In other news, I saw Star Wars II and loved it, so I guess must officially be a nerd.

I just had the strangest experience- I was about to microwave something, and I couldn't remember how to use my microwave. I pushed buttons for about 3 minutes before I remembered the right order. We've had this microwave for about 6 years. Is this the beginning of Alzheimers' or am I going crazy??

Sean and I were talking yesterday about goals- it turns out we have very different life goals. (DUH- we are very different people.) Isn't it amazing how different people want completely different things??
Sorry i haven't felt like updating lately. I think being with someone who is in the middle of a huge adventure and then being relagated to my routine life has made me a bit depressed.

This has been an INTENSE week of no sleep and lots of drinking. Mostly due to my friend Nick- who is visiting from Melbourne. The bunch of us (us= me, Nick, Jam, Rea, Mark, Sarah, and whoever else has been willing to tag along) have done things ranging from a weekend at the lake to watching Monty Python- ( and being FORBIDDEN to fall asleep) to various bars to hot tubbing- there has been tons to do and I'm SO TIRED! Not that I haven't loved it- I think this fusion of my travelling life and my regular life has been very good for bringing continuity to my life. As for those of you who didn't come to the cabin- SHAME ON YOU!! Where were you all??

Today was an exciting day. I got my marks back- I got an A+ in microbial ecology! Woo hoo! My prof asked me if I wanted to do a project with him next year- which would mean I would get an honours degree, which would mean I could go into a masters program. (Barring med school, of course). Its a really good opportunity, but I am kind of annoyed that he only thought I was credible after he saw my mark. Not at him, but- do I really come off like an airhead or something? When I went to fill out forms, one of the advising members (who I have never had a class with, EVER) looked at me and said, you know, you have to have a 3.0 GPA. Um, yeah, I know- its not a problem. What was that about? Also, all the super smart people are getting their early admissions letters from U of M med school and I am not part of them. I knew I was not going to be getting early admissions, but here the whole thing begins- am I ready to be rejected? I keep telling myself and telling myself that this will probably not be my year, but actually seeing these people and their letters was a lot harder than I thought. I hope I am ready to read that rejection letter.

Yesterday I saw Mulhulland Drive- one of the most confusing movies I have ever seen. There are three or four different plots going on at the same time, and at the end, when you hope there will be some kind of resolution and understanding, there isn't. I read one person's interpretation of what was going on, and it seems to make a lot more sense now. I think I need to watch it again.

If you had to show someone Winnipeg ( in all of its glory) what would you do? -and nobody better say the Forks.
Hooray! My friend Nick is coming to visit! He is a friend I met in Barcelona, and he hopefully should be here on Tuesday. I also really want my friend Shannon to visit as well, but so far there is no word on her status. Shannon, get your act in gear and get over here! If anybody is interested in helping me show someone around Winnipeg for this week, let me know! Also- all of you lake goers, we are going to be out there for the 11th and 12th!! Come on out!

Sorry for the lack of updates- it was always easy to update when I was at school close to a computer. My latest is that I am having tons o' fun doing programs with the kids at the marsh. I am following French programs, which means that I will later be giving hem in french! I am a little worried, but I talk a lot of french when I work-(there are a couple of Francophones there) and they think I'll do fine, so hopefully everything will work out. Also, I fed the turtles and the snakes today. I also saw a pied- billed Grebe. (Yeah, I know- what does that mean? Its a water-bird.)
