Our family from Australia has been in Winnipeg for the past couple days, so I've been doing a lot of family stuff lately. On Saturday we had an extended family movie night. Tonight I'm going to the casino with a bunch of my cousins. I'm not sure if Club Regent is a good showcase of all the city has to offer, but whatever...

We got smoked at our basketball game last night: 58-22. I knew that being in division 1 was going to be hard! But everyone on my team played really hard and we all did well- considering how outmatched we were.

I just found out that I got accepted to an exchange program for med students. This summer I'm going to be spending 4 weeks in Germany!

Ah, the library, my old friend. Today has been a ridiculously slow learning day. I've only gotten through 4 lectures and I've been here for 5 hours! (We have 4-8 lectures a day.) Stupid complicated brainstem. - Which of course leads to the inevitable joke of "well its not like you're doing brain surgery.... oh wait...."
har har har.

This week has been the official week of screwed up sleeping patterns. We started school on Wednesday, which meant that I went to bed at 4am Tuesday night (normal vacation bed-time) and woke up for school at 7am (normal school wakeup time). Which of course meant that I was exhasted Wednesday night. Which meant I slept on Wednesday from 6pm to 2am, and then couldn't sleep anymore. I ended up going to the gym on Thursday at 5am with all of the Hard-Core-Gym-Freaks who normally get up for a 5am gym date- i felt very out of place. I went to bed last night at 8pm, but i still don't think I've caught up- i took a nap in the library at school toady and have already taken a nap after school.
Going back to school sucks.

Happy New Years!
I had dinner last night at Lara's parents' house. They served us steak and gigantic crabs legs and lots of wine- it was great. Then I went to a house party that ended up being HUGE. Left at 2:30am but I should have stayed later- the party was still big when I left.
And I spent my first day of 2005 watching TV, reading Maeve Binchy novels, taking baths, and sleeping. An excellent start to the year.
